What we are doing
We are working on a stage production called “The Nightingale and the Rose”.
The story was written by the Irish writer and socialite Oscar Wilde.
It was part of a collection of shorts he wrote for his children with the intention of teaching them good morals. The story touches on many themes such as ungratefulness, arts and societal values, understanding and intelligence, empty beauty, judging in haste, the value of love, and nature vs. man.
The idea is to create an intermedia performance for people of all ages.
We strive to bring a modern touch to this classic story alongside using this
as a personal research process to delve into our interests and aspects of production.
We plan to blend elements of dance, animation and storytelling to bring this story to life.
